Hi everyone!! I love my job because knowing that I am a part of children’s lives and that I can make a difference in their lives makes me happy. Every time I walk into my classroom, I am ambushed with HUGS! It’s another little reason why I love my job. In May of 2011, I received my Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Education and completed my Associates Degree in Arts.

I’m the assistant Director and also the teacher of the two year olds (Bubblegum Class). I graduated from St. Augustine College with an Associate’s Degree in Child Development. I also have over 15 years in experience in the growth of many children, including five years at Kids In Harmony Day School. I LOVE IT!!!

My #1 goal in this field is to guide children through their journey of great success and exploration. I provide a healthy, safe and loving environment in where children are encouraged to explore, interact and learn from others. I continue to further my studies in the field of early childhood education by completing my bachelor’s degree.

• Staff Qualifications: Our teachers have a BA or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or an education related field, or sufficient credits in the field of education and significant work experience. The Program Director with over 10 years of early childhood experience coordinates program planning & implementation.

• Cultural Diversity: Kids In Harmony Day School encourages enrollment of children from various cultural backgrounds.

• Program: We offer flexible, rich learning environment that facilitates physical, cognitive and social emotional growth. Curriculum planning is based on developmentally appropriate learning and teaching guidelines.

• Loving Environment: Our school is more than just teaching kids. Because of the low teacher-student ratio, our staff aims to develop meaningful relationships with our students that will help provide them with strong educational and social foundation.

The Kids In Harmony difference

I have been at Kids In Harmony since 2007. I love it when the students are learning about this wonderful world (such as their “abc’s”). I also enjoy it when the children talk to me, saying that they love the food that I cook. In my free time, I research for new recipes from the internet or the library.

Hi, my name is Latantha Winslow. I think that children learn through interacting with each other, and part of my philosophy is to encourage that growth. I have been working with children for the last 16 years. I also have an Associates Degree in Billing and Coding along with a C.D.A. (equivalent to an associates in Early Childhood Education.) My personal life is centered around my 3 beautiful children ages 10, 14 & 19.

Hello! My name is Erika Ortiz. I have been working with children for about four years. I have an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Oakton Community College and I am currently finishing up my Bachelor’s Degree in Human and Educational Services with a focus in Bilingual Education from Illinois State University. I will be graduating December 2016.

I got into teaching because I have always enjoyed working with children. To me, there is NO BETTER FEELING than knowing that I have helped a child grow and helped expand their minds in many ways. My goal as a teacher is to make a difference in a child’s life!

Hello! My name is Ms. Paola and I am currently an Assistant Teacher at Kids In Harmony. I started working at KIH since the spring of 2015. I am also enrolled in college and expect to graduate with my Associates in Art. The part I love the most about working with children is seeing their growth over time.

Because adults learn so much more from kids, than the other way around! It is for the love of children that I pursued my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. In my 20 years of working in the field of Education (both Early Childhood and Special Education), there's always new things to learn every day. It is what keeps me inspired to continuously better myself. It is what you see in the eyes of each child that makes everything we do matter! It is in knowing that we made a child feel LOVED! And when we help build a child's self-esteem and educational foundation, what is there ahead of him or her that is impossible to achieve? It isn't enough to teach children their "ABCs" and "123s". It is about aiding them in discovering the world around them and the people they interact with. Moreso, it is about making time to talk about their favorite things to do, the foods they love to eat, the scrapes on their elbows & knees, talk about their siblings, families and friends. To me, that's the "Kids In Harmony's" way!

My name is Grisel Gonzalez. I was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Chicago. I have 2 adult girls and a 15 year old son AND a grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren.

I have worked in the Early Childhood Education field a little over 26 years. I love to work with the early age group 2 to 5, since they are and will always be my motivation. These are precious moments that make my life full of laughter, joy and keep me young at heart!

I graduated at St. Augustine College with an Associates in Early Childhood Education. I have been a teacher at Kids In Harmony since 2009 and enjoy very much teaching your three year olds (the Jellybean Class). They are inquisitive, interactive and fun to be around because they are just FULL OF ENERGY! In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family. And I recently became a mom myself!

Hola! Me llamo Romina Maldonado, I have been working at Kids In Harmony Since 2008. I enjoy the environment here and love all the children I care for. I also teach Sunday School at my neighborhood church. In my spare time, I’m into painting, enjoy reading and love swimming! Most of all, I enjoy being surrounded with my family! Currently, I’m attending Northeastern Illinois University majoring in Biology.

Hi! My name is Ms. Janet. I have a family of four. I was born and raised in the city of Chicago. I have taught Early Childhood Education for 20 years. Seeing the children explore, investigate and discover in their unique ways of developing (through their early learning years), inspires me to know that I am changing the world, one day at a time.
